ÀÏ˾»úapp to Renovate Ilima Resort Pool and Bar in Honolulu, Hawaii
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 30, 2015) – ÀÏ˾»úapp, a fully integrated firm focused on design, engineering, construction and mechanical services worldwide, has been awarded the design-build renovation of the Ilima Resort Pool and Bar at the Hale Koa Hotel located along Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Ilima Pool project is being contracted by the U.S. Installation Management Command headquartered at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This renovation features an 8,000 square foot infinity pool, a toddler pool area and several lounging areas. ÀÏ˾»úapp engaged Honolulu-based WATG to perform architectural services for this project.
This new project updates the recreation experience at the Hale Koa Hotel, which is located near six US Military bases on the island of Oahu. While the hotel will remain open for business during the renovations, the pool deck will close during the construction phase. Construction is expected to take 12 months to complete.
The designers will be challenged with mixing shade and sun areas and keeping with the theme of Hawaiian culture and hospitality. There will be family friendly features such as canopy walks with rope bridges, a spray park, water slide and splash pad. Also planned in the design concept are fire pits, heated spas, miniature golf, walk-up and swim-up bars, heated spas and seating for dining. Rounding out the design needs of this project are barefoot sand areas, cabanas and a performance stage.
Funding for the design and construction of this facility is paid for with US Army Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) provided by Soldiers, Military Families and authorized users of these Family & Morale Welfare Recreation (MWR) facilities. IMCOM's motto is "We Are the Army's Home." They provide installation services for the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters who serve the Army and other branches of the U.S. military. They are dedicated to the support of a ready and resilient Army by providing Soldiers, Families and Civilians a quality of life commensurate with the quality of their service. ÀÏ˾»úapp has worked with MWR on more than 30 projects.
